Show #222: My guest on the show is Duana Welch, Author of “Love Factually”.
Something’s Off about Him…Should I Trust My Intuition?
For Duana Welch, what started off with pain, heartache, and devastation would change her life forever.
As she studied for her PhD in environmental science, she found it increasingly difficult to find love. While she balanced the academic rigor that constantly filtered itself into her life, love evaded her, leaving her to search for the answer to true love.
Eventually, Duana put her brilliant mind to the test and turned to science for the answer, a decision that would help her bring together other struggling women and help them find the same love that she did.
This week, Duana and I discuss her dating advice for women when dealing with matters of intuition.
Intuition is Scientific
According to Duana, intuition all bubbles down to science. That gut feeling that we all feel, Duana says, is reported to lead us to good things. By the very nature of evolution, positive and helpful mutations will be preserved and spread throughout the population that it was formed and those to come. By this principle, we know that we were given a way of knowing, or feeling, when we’re being preyed upon—this same scientific principle applies to dating and relationships!
Given this information, why would a woman not be given the tools and skills she needs to know when she’s being taken advantage of or being manipulated?
Intuition is There to Save You
As we all far too well know, there has been a long history of misogyny and violence toward women. For centuries, women have been silenced, have been belittled, have been targeted. To stay safe, however, we trust our intuition.
If you find yourself in a situation with a man where something just seems off about him, Duana’s best dating advice for women is to trust your gut completely and to stop seeing him. Don’t collect more data. Don’t find out more about him to find out if you’ve misread the situation. Your intuition is there to save you.
Has your intuition ever gotten you out of a sticky or dangerous situation? In the comments below, let us know your thoughts on Duana’s dating advice for women!
About the Guest: Duana found that her interests had been shifting over the years to the psychology of relationships. With a PhD in developmental psychology, she was convinced that if she could use her background to help others, she could in turn help herself better understand how romantic relationships work. Duana soon began writing books with dating advice for women.
